NEWS Trinity Delivers Lady Michelle Lady Michelle is a semi-displacement hull design with a 28 ft. (8.5m) beam, capable of 19 knots and powered by two Caterpillar 3512B main engines which develop 2,250 hp each. The shallow draft of 7.5 ft. (2.3m) will enable her to gain access to many ports uncommon for a yacht of this size. A 16,100 gallon (62,460 L) fuel tank will allow a large cruising range of approximately 4,200 nm at 10 knots (with 10 percent fuel reserved). Designed by Trinity's head designer Geoff van Aller, Lady Michelle has been designed and built with special consideration for European operations. She will accommodate an owner's party of 10 in five staterooms and a crew of nine in five cabins. There is also an additional day room with a full bath that can accommodate an additional two guests if required. There is a large tender storage aft in the hull with an overhead crane for a 21 ft. tender. Specific design features include a panoramic sky lounge opening to a covered exterior deck aft on the pilothouse level and has dining for 12. On the main deck there is a full beam master stateroom with an offset master king size berth and large bathroom forward. There are separate closets for the owner and wife and an attached office. Moving aft, there is a beautiful spiral staircase that connects all levels and a large open plan main salon and dining room that opens out onto an aft deck with an air conditioned exterior seating and lounging area. Above there is a vast sundeck sporting an enormous sun pad, Jacuzzi, partially enclosed forward section with bar and grill aft for dining al fresco. Lady Michelle has a stabilizing June 2000 as senior vice president, chief financial officer and treasurer. On April 25, 2002, he was appointed to additional duties as president and chief executive officer of Matson on an interim basis. Morten Arntzen was appointed president and chief executive officer of Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. (OSG) in January 2004. He has been an OSG Board member since 2004. Prior to joining OSG, he was Chief Executive Officer of American Marine Advisors Inc., a U.S.based merchant banking firm specializing in maritime industry merger and acquisition advisory work and corporate restructuring for a global client base. John Reinhart was named chief executive officer, Maersk Line, Limited on August 1, 2000 and President in April 2004. He joined Maersk Inc. in 1991 in Human Resources. In 1992, he began his career in Universal Maritime Services working his way up to President. Mr. Reinhart returned to Maersk in 1996 as a Regional Director and then as Senior Vice President. system featuring the Quantum Zero Speed (at rest) stabilizers that create a steady platform under any conditions. The yacht will also have a 4,000 lb. davit with a 20 ft. boom, a 2,500 lb gantry crane and a 150 hp bow thruster to assist in maneuvering. Lady Michelle will carry a variety of water toys: two person waverunners, 13ft. tender, 21ft. RIB, two kayaks and Scuba equipment for four people. It also has a 32 ft. Intrepid which will be available for some charter guests. The Lady Michelle is ABS and MCA compliant. 2007 USS AOTOS Awards Announced The United Seamen's Service (USS) 2007 Admiral of the Ocean Sea Awards will be presented to James S. Andrasick, President and CEO of Matson Navigation Company, Inc., Morten Arntzen, President and CEO of Overseas Shipholding Group, Inc. and John F. Reinhart, President and CEO of Maersk Line, Limited. One of the maritime industry's most prestigious honors will be awarded at a gala industry dinner and dance to be held at the Sheraton New York Hotel and Towers, New York City, on November 2, 2007. John Bowers, Chairman of the USS AOTOS Committee and President of the International Longshoremen's Association, AFL-CIO, made the announcements. James Andrasick was named president and chief executive officer of Matson Navigation Company, Inc. on July 18, 2003. He joined Alexander & Baldwin, Inc., the parent company of Matson, in Collins Receives Bateman Award The American Shipbuilding Association (ASA) said that Senator Susan Collins (RME) is the 2007 recipient of the Herbert H. Bateman Award. Senator Collins was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1996 and reelected in 2002, and is Ranking Member and former Chairman of the Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee. She also serves on the Armed Services Committee. "Senator Collins is a consistent, strong advocate for the shipbuilding industry of the United States. She helped to defeat the Navy's 'One Shipyard' policy to ensure that both Bath Iron Works and Ingalls continue to design and build surface combatants for the Navy. She promotes alternative financing methods for naval ships in order to increase the number of ships contracted annually, and she champions legislation to require that ships for our military be built in American shipyards," said Cynthia L. Brown, President of ASA. The award was established by the ASA in 2000, and is the shipbuilding industry's highest recognition of an individual in the Executive Branch, Legislative Branch, or industry who has demonstrated consistent, outstanding and inspirational leadership in the shipbuilding industry. Previous recipients of the Herbert H. Bateman award are: Herbert H.
