Director, Quality Assurance DCL Job Location: USA Reports to the President of Disney Cruise Line, serves as the executive responsible for overseeing all safety and environmental quality assurance aspects of our ships. Represent the company as the Designated Person Ashore (DPA) under the International Safety Management (ISM) Code, develop and publish policy and verify compliance with the Safety Management System, including the Management Systems Audit and Continuous Improvement Programs. Conduct verification of other operational non-SMS procedures as requested by Operations Departments. Responsibilities: � Exercise unilateral authority to gain access to all Disney Cruise Line operational activities, plans, documentation, facilities and personnel to conduct quality, safety and environmental monitoring, audits and investigations. � Monitor the operation on all company ships and facilities to verify that adequate resources and support are allocated. � Maintain our high standards and lead the industry with a concerted focus on environmental and conservation strategies � Enhance and drive the safety strategy to shape the long term growth of Disney Cruise Line � Effectively enforce the company's safety and environmental protection policies � Provide an independent link to senior leaders on safety and pollution prevention initiatives for the ship and shoreside team members � Maintain a working knowledge of safety and pollution prevention regulations and authority over Company Ship Masters and Facility Managers; and serve as a liaison and advocate for the team on SMS issues � Provide counsel and direction to leaders on implementing SMS provisions including the Continuous Improvement Report - Corrective Action process and each leader's continuing requirement of updating the DPA of ongoing and planned matters relevant to safe and pollution, free operation of the ships. � Consult and coordinate with government and industry
