While equipment purchasing and leasing will remain with the purchasing department, intermodal pricing, detention and demurrage, and equipment administration will move under Bob Rousseau, who was promoted to vice president of intermodal. Rousseau will remain in Jacksonville and report to Rob Grune, vice president and general manager of Puerto Rico/Caribbean services, and John Hourihan, vice president and general manager of Latin America services. Crowley also announced that it is combining the company's operations and commercial responsibilities for its West Coast marine services unit into one group under the leadership of Chris Peterson, who has been promoted to vice president, West Coast services. Peterson will now oversee all West Coast marine operations, contract services and ship assist and escort services. Reporting to Peterson under this new structure are Scott Hoggarth, who was promoted to general manager of ship assist and escort; Paul Vidal, director of engineering; Jim Van der Veen, director of contract services; Scott Craig, manager of marine operations; Jim Penny, manager of marine operations and Russell Luttman, port captain. With his promotion to general manager, Scott Hoggarth is now responsible for ship assist and escort services and West Coast contract services, which includes the tug dispatch function and the sales team consisting of: John Geary, Conrad Notton, Mike Gasparo, and Dean Yamada. NWF Elects New Officers, Trustees The National Waterways Foundation elected new officers and trustees at its recent meeting on October 3, 2007 in Houston, TX. Newly elected Foundation officers are Peter Stephaich, Chairman, Campbell Transportation Co., Chairman, succeeding Joe Pyne, President/CEO, Kirby Corporation, and Terry Becker, President, Riverway Co., Treasurer. R. Barry Palmer, WCI, President and CEO, was re-elected as Secretary. Re-elected as Foundation trustees were Craig E. Philip, President and Chief Executive Officer, Ingram Barge Company; H. Merritt Lane, III, President and Chief Executive Officer, Canal Barge Company; Howard H. Brent, Peter Stephaich and R. Barry Palmer. Changes to Board of Trustees include the election of David Rider, Executive Director, Seamen's Church Institute (New York, NY), who succeeded the nowretired Dr. Jean Smith; and C. Jake Haulk, President, Allegheny Institute for Public Policy. Mr. Robert Guthans has left the Board. Nelson Spencer, III, Publisher, The Waterways Journal Allis-Chalmers Acquires Rebel Rentals Houston-based Allis-Chalmers Energy Inc. reported it has acquired Lafayette, La.-based Rebel Rentals Inc. for $6.75 million. Officials contend the acquisition will strengthen Allis Chalmers' Tubular Services segment throughout south Louisiana and the Gulf Coast region. Crowley Wins $28.9M Contract Crowley Petroleum Distribution, Anchorage, Alaska, is being awarded a $28.9m fixed price with economic price adjustment contract for fuel products and delivery services. Using services are Army, Navy, Air Force, and Federal Civilian Agencies. This acquisition is a partial set aside of three percent with the remaining 97 percent to be awarded on a competitive basis. Contract funds will not expire at the end of the current fiscal year. The proposal was originally solicited with 12 responses. Date of performance completion is September 30, 2011.
