Products Markey Supplies to BayDelta Navigation Markey Machinery supplied a second DEPCF-52 75HP Electric Hawser winch for a series of Nichols Brothers Shipyards-constructed 6,800 hp tugs. The DEPCF-52 Electric Hawser winch is slated for installation on the tug Vigilant. This latest tug will be under charter from BayDelta to Crowley Marine Services. Crowley Marine Services plans the tug and bow mounted electric hawser winch for service in Alaska on Cook Inlet. Markey Machinery custom designed the type DEPCF-52 for ship assist and tanker escort service. This winch features an automatic level wind, 75 hp electric drive motor, and hands free RenderRecover controls. The Render-Recover controls enable the tug captain to adjust the set point for automatic cable tensioning operations to full rated line speed (378 ft./min.) and load (46,227 lbs.). A band brake applies 600,000 lbs. of holding power to the winches single drum. This winch can carry up to 750 ft. of 10 in. synthetic line. Find a Leak: Full Spectrum All-In-One Dye Tracer Products developed a fluorescent dye -- TP-3400 Dye-Lite All-InOne dye -- which is designed to greatly improve leak detection in all oil and oil-based fluid systems. TP3400 Dye-Lite All-In-One dye assures optimum leak detection because it actually contains two fluorescent dyes. One fluoresces best under UV and the other under blue light. Whatever type of inspection lamp is used, All-In-One dye will glow brilliantly and spotlight every leak -- even a pinhole -- in a system.
