Bollinger Delivers 60K bbl Tank Barge
Barge B. No. 262 is a manned ocean, clean oil tank barge built to American Bureau of Shipping and U.S. Coast Guard requirements for the Oil Pollution Act of 1990 (OPA '90). The barge has ten cargo compartments and two separate pumping systems. It is equipped with two Byron Jackson cargo pumps driven by Detroit series 60 engines. The deck is equipped with two Techcrane model F10-50 electric-hydraulic cranes. Morton S. Bouchard, III, President/CEO of Bouchard Affiliates, said, "We are pleased to have taken delivery of the first of three barges within the next 10 months that will conclude our double hull construction business plan that was implemented in 1992. Bouchard will have replaced its entire single hull fleet with flush deck double hull barges as mandated with the enactment of OPA'90.
