Bollinger Chooses ShipConstructor Bollinger Shipyards is using ShipConstructor 3D marine production software to build the U.S. Coast Guard's Sentinel Class Fast Response Cutters (FRC). PFI Marine Electric in Dutch Harbor Year Round Austal Honors Future Leaders Simrad-Yachting announced the NSE series of multifunction marine electronic displays. The fully-networkable NSE is a powerful GPS Chartplotter with embedded cartography for out-of-the-box functionality. The system incorporates a newly designed user interface with elements of Northstar's direct access functionality and Simrad-Yachting's menu access. All NSE series systems purchased in North American are fully loaded with Nautic Insight HD high-resolution vector cartography. Providing navigators high-resolution 2D and 3D shaded contour and satellite imagery information, Nautic Insight HD nav- Pacific Fishermen Shipyard and Electric, LLC (PFI Marine Electric) will now be providing year round marine electrical services in Dutch Harbor, Alaska, as well as the Puget Sound area, maintaining marine electricians on site 24/7. Seattle's PFI Marine Electric shares facilities with Dutch Harbor's Lunde Marine Electronics to provide marine electrical services in Alaska along with Lunde Marine's electronic services. Operations will expand at the store and shop facilities shared by the two independent companies at 1558 East Point Road in Dutch Harbor. On September 2, 2009, Austal's U.S. operation in Mobile, Ala., honored the first graduates of its four-year apprenticeship program. The graduates honored at this banquet received their certificates of completion and designation as Department of Labor Class A Journeymen. The program is certified by the U.S. Department of Labor, Ala. Department of Post Secondary Education, and the Veteran's Administration, and is governed by the Department of Labor Standards of Apprenticeship for the respective trades of Pipefitter, Marine Electrician, Aluminum Assembler and Shipfitter. www.marinelink.com MN 69
